THE DEFINITION OF GREENWASHING
Where sustainability is written on the label, it should ideally also be written on the inside. If not, there is generally talk of greenwashing. Things are declared to be green or sustainable, but unfortunately they are not in reality. This phenomenon has been present in all sectors of the economy for several years. From the food and automotive industries to the tourism industry and the energy sector. Particularly as a result of the socially charged debate about man-made climate change, industries and companies are trying to make their brand core and portfolio shine green and thus possibly cachet their own climate-damaging products.
AT B+K, THE ISSUE OF SUSTAINABILITY HAS ALREADY BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN THE COMPANY DNA.
In order to have the smallest possible CO2 footprint in their external presentation, many companies are getting very creative. From initial social products in green guise to sponsored image videos of sustainable charity projects or green environmental campaigns. However, this does not change the fact that, for example, the previous environmentally harmful production, the long transport route or the sales of climate-damaging goods based on measurements do not contribute to the fight against climate change. What ultimately remains is a company-based carbon footprint that looks green, but is not.
In the medium to long term, climate-neutral or even climate-negative corporate measures ranging from sustainable repackaging to the conversion of production methods or the use of production residues as an energy source can find their way into all branches of the company. The latter point is the DNA of the corporate alliance between Prof. Dr. Berg & Kießling GmbH (B+K for short) and Euro-K GmbH. The innovation and development of innovative energy converters is the responsibility of Euro-K GmbH and the subsequent realization (including preliminary project planning) is the responsibility of B+K. The top priority of the alliance of companies is: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION THROUGH INNOVATION!
With truly green as well as sustainable ideas, the group of companies works together for the efficient provision of energy from unused residual materials exactly where it is needed. With the development of the ClinX combined heat and power plant (CHP), B+K has made it its dominant corporate task to make efficient use of even low energy potentials and to enable environmentally neutral recycling.
B+K IS DRIVEN BY THE FOLLOWING FOUR VISIONS:
SOLVING ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS
We want to find innovative solutions to the increasing environmental, resource and energy problems.
SUSTAINABILITY
We want to help people around the world improve their lives.
ENERGY ENVIRONMENT
We want to support the energy transition with innovative solutions.
REGIONALITY
We naturally want to consolidate our home region in its special role as an energy region as well as present sustainable solutions.
CLINX STANDS FOR CLEAN INCINERATION OF (X) ANY RESIDUAL MATERIALS (HIDDENFUELS)!
With ClinX, B+K offers an environmentally friendly, innovative combined heat and power (CHP) solution in the power range between 40 kW-1 MW electric. The process of the externally fired micro gas turbine, which is used in ClinX, opens up a wide fuel spectrum. This opens up fuel sources that cannot be converted by other systems due to their heterogeneity. These residual materials are converted locally into electricity, heat and/or cold and made usable for production processes in the plant, instead of being disposed of in a central disposal system, usually at a cost. For B+K, the following therefore applies: There is no waste, only energy carriers.
Decentralized energy generation, exactly where it is needed, makes ecological and economic sense. In view of finite reserves of fossil fuels, the energetic utilization of residual materials that can no longer be recycled represents an environmentally friendly alternative. ClinX as a decentralized small plant effectively utilizes the energetic potential of the materials and takes on a pioneering role in its performance class due to the most advanced air purification technology.
WHICH CUSTOMER GROUPS CAN BENEFIT FROM THE CLINX SYSTEM AND THUS ACTUALLY SUSTAINABLY REDUCE THEIR CO2 FOOTPRINT?
ClinX, as a combination of a microturbine and the high-temperature heat exchanger, is a versatile product. The technology offers a wide range of applications, depending on the material streams available in each case. In Germany, the primary relevant application is the utilization of biogenic solid fuels, which are residues or by-products from crop care or industrial processing.
CLIMATE-NEUTRAL & DECENTRALIZED ENERGY GENERATION WE RECOMMEND:
CORE GROUP WOODWORKING INDUSTRY
For example, wooden house manufacturers, veneer factories, kitchen manufacturers, furniture factories, etc.
INDUSTRIES WITH ENORMOUS HEAT REQUIREMENTS
For example, publishing and printing, metal products manufacturing, chemical industry etc.
MUNICIPALITIES, PUBLIC CARRIERS
For example, schools, swimming pools, public buildings, clinics/hospitals, local heating supply, residential complexes.
The group of companies has set itself the overriding task of actively tackling environmental problems and solving the residual material problems of our customers, so that sustainable and green action, production or supply is jointly guaranteed.
