The technology is able to generate electricity and heat from all wood-like waste materials, such as those produced in large quantities during maintenance work in Lusatian forests – and optionally also cold through the use of heat pump technology. The unsorted wood waste is considered a supplier of renewable energy. This is why the power plants of the Cottbus-based plant manufacturers are also subsidized in accordance with the Renewable Energy Act (EEG).”
